Stock Plus+ is for the guys who don’t wanna feel shifts and want street cruisers. At wide-open throttle, shifts become faster but not firm like stage 1. Includes torque management overhaul to minimize bogs/power dips during around town shifts. Torque Limits raised also. Agility Mode Included for sprinted driving and no gearbox live for the moment learning.
Stage 1 Street Tune gives faster around town/street nice shifts depending on the load of the engine. Wot Fast crispt shifts. Torque Management Overhauled. No bogs/dips in power during shifts. Torque Limiters Raised. Agility Mode Included and Modified for faster firmer shifts. No gear box learning with A mode.
NEW: S55 SLR Hybrid Version. Mandatory to have Blue-Top Solenoids! If you do not know if you have them do not order. Newest update 3-20-23 completely changes how car drives with 45% faster shifts that are not harsh or slam, gearbox learning radically changed, engine torque management smoother power flow, tcc lockup no longer lugging.
SLR BLACK SERIES
After 6 months of development, testing, modeling and data logging our new release is a game changer, bringing major changes to drivability and shift performance and feel, unlike any release we have put out.
- The Torque Converter logic has been changed to significantly reduce the common 5g clunky transmission when shift speeds are sped up, smoother transition of lockup clutch and absorbing torsional vibration of the engine and
powertrain, and smoothing out the engine rotation. Changes to Reverse flow mode and Forward flow mode reduced/eliminated a lot of tcc lockup bugs.

- 3-4 trailing throttle clunky bumps were reduced significantly/eliminated with ecu tunes from Race iq and a couple of others.
- Smoother transition into gear and reverse.
- The newest tcu operating system available
- Torque management has been recalculated for better torque control during driving and shifts.
- Full control M-mode holds gears. (Only in M-mode you toggle to with mode button)
- Drive modes included are C-Comfort Mode. S-Sport/Standard Mode. M-Manual Mode. A- Abuse/Agility Mode.
- Torque converter control is radically different, with smooth coasting to stop and smooth parking lot driving without jerking from stock tcc calibrations that most hate.
- More sensitive downshift per throttle %
- WOT downshifts are faster into lower gear. These transmissions do not skip gears they are sequential type so going from 4-2 downshift has to downshift to 3rd then 2nd. We sped that up significantly.
- Blue-top solenoids are MANDATORY

I went with Stage 1 as the car is daily driven. My complaint earlier was that the stock transmission was always dropping to the lowest gear in low throttle driving and driving in bad traffic makes it worse giving the wrong geared impression. With the new TcU shifts became way crispier and faster albeit with a slight push on WOT changes. The car no longer drops gear and light throttle cruising is just comfortable equivalent to how a modern day transmission would shift.
It has now been 6 months now and have no had any single issue whatsoever for the past 10k kilometres driven so far.
Highly recommended!

Transaction was smooth and fast, placed order and unit shipped out in days, first impressions with the new TCU installed , I did this on my 03 S55 AMG M113K Car and I purchased the SLR Hybrid Firmware, WOW is all I can say, night and day difference in shift performance, Has me smiling every time it shifts now! Pretty impressive how much quicker the shifts are and they aren’t harsh at all, by far best MOD I’ve done to the car so far, I highly recommend this to anyone who wants more performance from the S55.

I can’t say enough good things about TJ Merry and his TCU upgrade. I ordered one for my 2003 S55 and went with the SLR hybrid version. The TCU arrived quickly but when I plugged it in, it would only operate in “S” mode and wouldn’t toggle between the different shift modes (M/S/C/A). I reached out to TJ and he immediately sent me another TCU that he tested on an S55 just to make sure everything worked properly. When the replacement arrived, I plugged it in only to have it act like the first one. When I would plug my stock TCU back in, the different shift modes would work. I took a photo of my stock TCU and sent it to TJ. He then realized that my S55 was running an older piece of hardware and that the newer TCU modules would not work. Instead, he prepared an older TCU and sent it out. Once I plugged it in, it worked beautifully! Because of the older hardware, I didn’t get the “A” mode, but in “S” mode, it is night and day different compared to stock. The shifts are MUCH faster and smoother. The car no longer lugs around. It has completely transformed my S55. I use my S55 as a daily driver and this TCU upgrade has been a game changer. I could not be happier with the new performance. Thanks, TJ!!

I went with the SLR Black Series and Blue Top solenoids, TJ was fantastic to deal with and offered lots of help, I can’t reccommend enough.
I didn’t end up needing the Blue Tops, my ’03 S55 had received blue tops at some point in the past, and I thought I had seen brown tops last time I was in there changing the conductor plate.
As for the tune, fantastic!
C and S are fairly similar to stock, not a huge difference in my opinion, slightly faster and slightly harder shifts in S (which is great, I still wanted the stock feel when driving around with the family). I do like that I can now limit the gear/get it to downshift in C and S – not sure if that’s because I got the full control M-mode? But great mod.
M-Mode is perfect, nice crisp shifts and I have full control now. I hated how it would shift for me before, it now acts like an automated manual and is more responsive-definitely my favourite part of the tune. Have to watch out you don’t hit the rev limiter now though ;).
Agility/Abuse mode – not the biggest fan, it revs high, holds revs more and shifts fast, but it shifts scary hard, like put your back out and make you think the trans is going to drop out hard… Maybe it was just because it’s still adapting, it almost seemed slower to shift and then bang into gear? But I haven’t really used it since when going full acceleration. I’ll try it again at some point, but for now I’m loving the S and M modes. If someone is tracking their S class, then yes Agility mode would probably be good-because race car-but for the street, I personally don’t really use it like I thought I would.
Overall, near-perfect tune and fantastic customer service. I would reccommend this to anyone, it woke up the transmission without making it clunky and undriveable under normal conditions. If you’re on the fence, just get it, you won’t regret it. C,S,M modes are what they always should have been, and A mode-well, I’ll check back in if I use it again and it feels better.
