How to identify if you have bluetop solenoids or brown tops in 722.6 5G transmission for M113k Cars and V12 Varients

This way with Vin number is 75% correct. Why it’s not 100% correct is if someone swapped in a used transmission and tcu from Junkyard not knowing it had browntops.

For m113k supercharged and V12 cars only vin lookup.  Most all others have browntops

When you find your car build sheet in the above link, scroll down to “Aggregates” You will find the factory transmission serial code that came stock in the car.

The example below on the vin lookup page shows transmission build number 722643 and then the transmission serial number. Many versions of Mercedes car variants came with blue tops, not just AMG cars.

All transmissions above serial # 04-247134 will come with blue top solenoids. Below that number 04-247134 will have browntops and they do not work for my custom SLR firmware.
